Description

The Strike 385 rotary evaporator from ChemTron combines advanced functionality with safety to provide the ideal instrument for the small-scale recovery of solvents in a laboratory environment. Key safety features to protect end-users include:

  • A safety shield over the 5 litre aluminium PTFE-coated heating tank
  • Vacuum-tight and corrosion-resistant seals without gaskets to prevent solvent leakage
  • Thermostatic heating bath with overheating and dry running protection
  • Screw-on evaporation flasks to create a leak-proof linkage between the flask and the through pipe to the unit's condenser
  • Powered glassware positioning system with safety release in case of power failure
  • Adjustable safety temperature

All functions of the Strike 385 are controlled through an LCD touch screen that provides a real-time display of operating parameters such as bath temperature and rotation speed. Up to 21 frequently-used protocols can be stored and if one is selected its name will appear on the  LCD display. The Strike 385 can also be controlled by monitoring the fume temperature with an optional PT100 probe.

Heating is provided by a 5 litre capacity aluminium thermostatic heating bath that is coated with PTFE. It can be  removed for emptying and cleaning and has a planar heater on the bottom to protect the operator from electric shock. Solutions in the bath can be heated from ambient to 85°C with water and 185°C with oil.

The rotation speed for the Strike 385 can be set between 28 rpm and 280 rpm and the unit features a timer with a range from 1 minute to 999 minutes in 1 minute increments. Once the time is complete the instrument stops and the flask is lifted out of the heating tank. The rotating head has an adjustable low stop sensor that assists in positioning the evaporation flask at the desired level in the tank.
