Description

These 90 nm - 300 nm diameter fluorescent polystyrene microparticles are used in a wide range of immunodiagnostic assays, as size standards for calibration of equipment, for applications in cell biology, etc. The physical adsorption of the polystyrene microparticles is used to bind ligands to the surface of the particles.

These fluorescent particles are prepared by either staining the polystyrene with the fluorophore or by polymerizing the fluorophore in styrene in the presence of polystyrene particles. As a result the fluorophores do not leach and their fluorescence remains stable under recommended storage conditions.
