Description
These 250 nm diameter amino-modified microparticles are manufactured from polylactide*, a biodegradable,
thermoplastic, aliphatic polyester derived from renewable resources such
as corn starch or sugarcane. Recent research has shown promise in the
use of these microparticles for drug transport and delivery and for
enhancing the immune response when combined with antigen.
Biodegradable microparticles are stable at neutral pH
for at least three months. Degradation can be triggered by exposing the
particles to a basic or acidic pH or by enzymatic hydrolysis.
